PO3 £34,106 pa - £37,107pa (Pro rata for Part Time Posts)

Hours 1 x 37 hours per week


Based within H.M. Coroner’s Office, City Courts, The Tyrls, Bradford   BD1 1LA



We are looking to appoint a Coroner’s Services Manager to join the team at H.M. Coroner’s Office.  If you are a dynamic and enthusiastic individual, who relishes a challenge, with previous experience of managing a team, then we are keen to hear from you.


The successful candidate will need:


To ensure the consistent provision of a high quality, professional and effective service to the people of West Yorkshire Western Division (the coronial area covered by Bradford, Calderdale and Kirklees Authorities).

To plan, develop and implement new systems, procedures and processes at the Coroner’s Office which meet the current and future needs of the Service.

A minimum of 3 years experience working in a Council or Coroner’s Office or similar large complex organisation in a supervisory/management role delivering customer service.

NVQ Level 5 in Management or equivalent degree qualification, or 5 years management experience in a large complex organisation.

Excellent communication skills.

Excellent numeracy skills and previous experience in controlling and monitoring annual budgets.

The ability to demonstrate sensitivity, tact and diplomacy in dealing with enquiries from a wide range of people including bereaved families.  

Knowledge of the Coroners and Justice Act 2009 and Human Tissue Act 2004.

The ability to work flexibly to accommodate the needs of the Service.
